In the company of KGI 3120, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crandell, who live north of Unadilla, we visited Offutt Air base with about 150 other Citizens Band operators.
Offutt officials were pleasant and cooperative. We boarded one of five air command KC 135 jets, the same as the Boeing 707 used on commercial lines, were told the why of all the buttons and telephones and were seated in the pilot's bucket at the controls.
Air command is a war airplane designed to command an attack in flight. It is loaded with communications equipment. The special jets are in the air 24 hours a day.
Bob Knisley has a crew dredging the marina all hour of the day and night.
Knisley will have the marina in operation May 15. Draglines have been operated over weekends and at nights to get the job done for the opening.
Former Boat Club Commodore Arthur Lindahl said the marina will be the greatest boost for boating Nebraska City has seen. There will be launching areas, housing for boats and concessions.
After giving serious consideration, I'm convinced Rick Budd can do the twist and could join a hootenanny. His young and growing family includes a brother-sister team who have their own hootenanny and who have performed before church and other youth groups. Well, I've just been figuring that if those young'uns go for that hootenanny stuff, then I'll betcha they can twist up a mean dance and perhaps have gotten Dad to join 'em.
I like the new (?) dance called "the slop." That's the easiest.
How did we dance to "Wiggle like a snake, waddle like a duck, that's the way you do it when you do the hucklebuck?"
