Off the record they say, . . . So long to Company A. Nebraska City guardsmen may be called for a special super-duper-pooper one week of training in August at Camp Ripley, Minnesota . . . Joe Steiner will leave Safeway and Marv Roth (the milkman) will join Kitty Clover, Optimists were told the other day.
The new president of the Bellevue college, Dr. Sam Sollenberger, is a brother of Arlen Sollenberger, production superintendent for the Fremont Guide-Tribune. It's been a number of years since I've seen either of the brothers . . . Used to work with Arlen at the Fairbury Daily News when his brother Sam was teaching school at Jansen.
Nebraska City school authorities are considering whether to have a ground breaking ceremony for the new grade school to be built on the district's five-acre tract in the north part of town.

Read the other day that a special system of food preservation may result in Hawaiian fruits in plentiful supply across the nation.
That includes mangoes, papayas and pineapples.
Except for pineapple, the names of the other fruits may be a bit strange to stateside folks, but then there are many things in Hawaii strange and beautiful.
And you'll like the fruits. Our family had papaya juice for breakfast in the islands just like the stateside folks have orange juice.
If you want to have a barrel of what is going to be fun, but which wasn't fun some years ago, join in the wheat binding and shocking Sunday south of Syracuse.
The Otoe county Centennial committee should be commended for forward thinking in promoting Centennial interest.
After the shindig Sunday, Centennial folks are going to get on the hayracks and pitch shocks into a real old-time threshing machine provided by Marion Schroeder. The threshing bee will be held in a week or so after the wheat has dried.
Welcome to F. W. Woolworth and Company. We hope you will build and build your store soon.
Woolworth is considering building a new store on the Wessel-Berthold property on Central Avenue. Nebraska Citians won't forget the Wessel and Lima's fire in August 1964.
