Alma Beccard, 1515 Central Avenue, telephoned the otherday to say that to the best of her knowledge, no one is going to build a tavern in her home.
She contacted an attorney who suggested that perhaps there was an address error in the application to move a tavern to the address.
And to this, Alma agrees.
She said 1517-19 Central is owned by Edward Clayton. She surmised that perhaps the correct address might be 1509-11 Central Avenue.
If you want to see a cutie, then you should see Rita, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Long, do a clown tap dance and watch her closely as her hat unintentionally falls off.
Like the old pro, and much to the delight of her audience, the child, tosses the hat aside and continues her act.
Sort of a . . . the show must go on . . .
Understand a University student marked her registration card as a Catholic, and received a number of calls from a priest looking after youngsters away from home.
Apparently wishing a little more freedom or not wanting to be checked on while away, the student signed her registration card the next year as Moslem.
She had no visitors.
About the only thing I can say about the Moslems, Arabs and desert Egyptians is that they sure stirred up a dust storm.
When you talk about war, talk with a parent who has a son "over there." In my book, those parents are the real authorities on the subject.
I know one mother who worried and watched over her sons and only recently started breathing easily when the last of her four sons returned home unharmed.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hobbie probably have opinions on the war. They were informed the other day their son, Gary, was wounded.
When they flashed Billy Graham on television the othernight and he unloaded on sex, immorality and the Bible, I didn't know whether to switch channels or turn up the volume.
So, our family just sat back and watched and listened to the silver-tongued Graham with the Bible in his hand.
A parent of a teenager told me recently that she used to think of herself as an average mother. Now, the description is "Golly, Mom, you're dumb; you just don't know what's going on."
Billy Graham does.
And he sure knows how to put it into words.
