How to solve the too-much-land idea

The government wants to t a k e farm land out of production, fertilizer companies are making fertilizer stronger so farmers can get more yield per acre and I just won't know what's going to happen if metracal doesn't leave us alone and let us eat all that surplus food and get fat and lazy.

But I do know how to solve the too-much-land idea and at the same time pacify President Kennedy who seems to drool over the thought of giving my tax money to southern states. This is how it should be done.

—Take an 80 out of production in the vicinity of every town or community in the state.

—Convert that 80 into a country club and golf course to be built with "federal funds" which, by george is my and your loot, and at the same time provide more recreation space and be an incentive for attracting industry.

Jansen, Nebr., has been called the "sin spot of Nebraska." It might be well to add that No. 136 which leads to Jansen from the east and west should be renamed "Alcohol Row." In a three mile stretch east of Jansen we estimated 500 beer and whiskey bottles decorated the drainage ditch on the south side of the highway.

President Kennedy received an injury when he bumped his head on a table when playing with little Caroline. If that pert "Miss Independence" is anything like my daughters she didn't allow daddy to get conked without her help.
